They discovered it because I finished my work before everyone else and was going around talking to them while they were still working. I read all 3 lord of the ring books, along with the Hobbit, when I was 11 years old. When I told my parents, it blew their mind. I got tested when I was in 4th grade and was already at a 10th grade level

my 6 year old has adhd was diagnosed but wasnt being seen in her preschool which was a full choice based and play based ( dont get me started ) any how I just had her spring PTC and they are starting to see more adhd in the school setting however before I asked this directly her teacher brought up she does t want my daughter to fall through the cracks and somehow quickly threw in the term giftedness but I dont think directly linking it to my 6 yeat old . what should I look for ? her 8 year old sister is autistic. my husband is auhd and has a high IQ same with his side of the family . theres so much I wanna know lol. feel free to message me

me and my daughter got both autism and ADHD, she can remember exactly what people say and exactly what she read. she is really good at languages and wrote uni level essays at 11. she is a PhD candidate now on scholarship and academic staff. she did ok at school but not great with no effort and attending 50% of it. At uni in her area of interest she is a star.

i was too fast in school, my hyperlexja would kick in, and i would distract other students. so they gave me more work. i finished it faster still so they put me in higher grades cause the stimulus wasn’t challenging enough

In many of my classes in hs, when I finished my work the teachers let me leave for the rest of the period. I was usually talking to another teacher, in the art and yearbook room or in the gym. I was quick and chatty. In college, I wasn’t able to understand one of my calculus based economics professors. My brain was not picking up his English, so I taught myself everything. I only showed up to class to turn in assignments or take a test. I ended up with one of the highest grades in the class.
