this is exactly why letting go can feel so impossible. because when someone is cruel, at least anger gives you a door to walk through. but when someone is not bad, when they are just emotionally unavailable, wounded, or unable to meet you properly, you keep trying to understand them instead of choosing yourself. eventually you realise that understanding someone’s pain does not mean you have to keep being hurt by it. you can have compassion for them and still decide that your heart deserves better.

Dear heavenly father, I see the work and miracles you do for others, I pray that you please do the same for me and my pretty girl. Please let this time apart from one another help us grow, heal, soften our hearts and teach us that love can remain steady even in the presence of silence & distance.
