Bills that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Maternity leave changed more than just my routine — it changed my priorities. The career I’d spent years working towards suddenly felt very different once my baby arrived. And the thought of rushing back to work just so we could afford childcare? That never felt right to me. I didn’t want to miss 🤍 the quiet mornings together 🤍 the tiny milestones that happen so quickly 🤍 the moments you never get back But at the same time, the reality was there. The cost of living kept rising. Money felt tighter than we expected. And those little conversations of “maybe another time” started happening more than I liked. The idea of going back to the usual routine — long commutes, rushed evenings, watching the clock — made me realise something. I didn’t want another job. I wanted another option. Something that would let me stay present with my baby, but still contribute financially. So during the small pockets of time I had — nap times, evenings, the odd quiet moment — I started learning about digital products and different ways people were making money online. Things that didn’t require shifts, offices, or handing my time over to someone else. Just something I could slowly build from home. And over time, it’s made such a difference for us. It’s created breathing room. It’s given me flexibility. And it’s allowed me to earn my own income without missing these early years with my daughter.
