Does the waist buckle actually work though? Does it operate the same way the sinches do on the sides of some 107’s? My thighs are big and my waist doesn’t match. So if a buckle in the back helps me size for my thighs and not my waist, I’m sold.

buckle back on properly high waisted should sit around 3-5 cms below so it affects the booty fit too and also pulls more of the adjusting to the back instead of the front so NO its not defunct it just went out of fashion/was less important with belts
