Our gym teacher was also the mayor and when it was nice outside he'd just take the class on "history walks" around town and talk about the old buildings and teach us different kinds of trees 😂

We had NONE of these exceptions and we were a rural school, not even for the volunteer fire fighters who were still in school.

My small town high school has a class, in conjunction with the township, for seniors that gets them medic and firefighter certification. This is real.

Went to a rural school and taught at the same rural school. I used to miss school hunting and working cows pretty often, then I had students doing the same thing and it gave me hope for the next generation. ❤️

Our Vocational Department at our HS is amazing. I can get my hair cut, Alternator changed, repainted and dents pulled, go get a snack in culinary and then go out back and pet the livestock. And still miss half the building.

canceling school bc the basketball or even football going to state in a rural school is a really big deal!!! my junior year our basket lball yeam made the final 4 and between the team, cheerleaders, pep band, and student pep section, more than half the Student body was out of class anyway so they just cancled. but trust it was a really big deal for eveyone
