I was like that too. People love to tell you to “get over it” or to “just think positively,” as if that alone can fix everything. But that’s not how real healing works. Most people don’t actually understand what healing means or where it even starts. A lot of it comes from the beliefs you formed early in life to feel safe, beliefs that quietly follow you into adulthood. That’s why learning to calm your nervous system matters. It’s about unlearning old patterns and slowly building healthier ones. Learning how to treat yourself with the same care you would give someone you love. Choosing your own peace instead of constantly abandoning yourself. Scrolling and waiting for time to fix everything won’t do it on its own. If you want to understand this process and approach healing in a real way, Healing Isn’t Pretty by Mira Hartson explains it clearly and helped me more than I expected.
