What is Coraline's just a ghost and the other world is her trying to figure out how to escape so at the end of the movie she doesn't escape she just gets trapped in a dream and the dream will ever stop the other both are her guardian angel, and took her away to her happy place and the other mother is just the Grim Reaper . . My other theory is where Coraline is just in a mental hospital and she's making her own storytime how she escapes the mental hospital and it's just going in back home and then she goes to the other door, which is her just thinking about all the time and making up her own imagination thinking of how she would escape home instead of the mental hospital, and the other world is just hurt, trapped in her own home and her dying and the three ghost they take her to her happy place that's why they helped the other mother is the nurse back and she's just using her imagination to cope with

He's Coraline's imaginary friend that somehow escaped her imagination into the real world. That's why his grandma never really talks to him much, and why he's always conveniently around whenever Coraline needs help. He's a glitch in reality. The Cat isn't protecting Coraline either. It's protecting the universe from Coraline. The Cat knows Coraline has the power to accidentally rewrite reality through imagination. If Coraline ever fully accepted the Other World, every universe would slowly merge into one giant dream where nothing is real anymore. The reason the moon changes shape throughout the movie isn't because of time passing. It's because the universe is loading. Like a video game. Every scene we watch is actually Coraline's brain rendering reality one piece at a time because she's unknowingly a cosmic being dreaming existence into place.
