Hot take: your partner, especially casual partner, is not responsible for your overall emotional wellbeing. I don’t think Garcia was harsh for setting a boundary. Santos could use a therapist. If roles were reversed, this would still be true. Understanding and caring about someone doesn’t mean you’re not going to also call them out. If anything, it means there’s a deep care that Garcia is willing to set the boundary and encourage Santos to get the support she needs.

I dont understand people not being more upset about her. But then I NEVER liked their relationship. Even in season 1 it felt awful imbalanced. Like Santos is always trying to please Garcia and Garcia holds all the power in this relationship.

I would genuinely be devastated if my partner said get a therapist like that and so would a lot of people defending Garcia. She also ditched their plans because it’s casual suddenly??? That would GUT me too especially in the middle of such a crazy shift. Santos is not supposed to be a character easy to love just like Langdon and Robby, but I see way more people jumping to hate on her 😬

please! I was thinking this too! and she keeps telling Santos to act professional with Langdon but I feel like everyone looks past when Garcia isn't professional with anyone honestly. and I feel like I'm overdramatic talking about a show like this but it's not hard to tell that Langdon is acting condescending with Santos. and at the end of the day he did drugs, no matter how good of friends you were, you gotta wake up (Garcia) and know that he was in the wrong for that.

I can 100% see this viewpoint. However, I do have a genuine question: why does every critique of Santos suddenly lose value because of a "bad tone." People hate on Dr. Al-Hashimi, Dr. Mohan, Dr. Garcia, and Dr. Langdon, not for calling Santos out, but because of their "tones." Why? We all (at least SHOULD) recognize that Santos is a kind and empathetic person despite HER harsh, abrasive, and off-setting tones, so why should we negate others? A lot of people are saying that the issue with Garcia in this moment was that she was technically saying something helpful but with a dismissive tone, for example. Absolutely NO hate, but I want to hear why this is.
