Hi Maya, I got diagnosed with Lung Cancer stage 1 in 2021. I am also a non smoker. I actually went to my primary doctor in 2019 when I stared feeling out of breath when walking and doing other activities. He told me to lose some weight. In 2021, I had a CT scan of my stomach and they saw a nodule on the bottom of my lung. Doctor told me it was probably an infection but I push for more testing and was sent to an oncologist. They did a pet scan and a few weeks after I had surgery to remove the bottom of my right lung. I see my oncologist every 6 months. Walking into the appointments are never easy. I am glad you are still here.

I went to my GP today after putting off going for months due to fear of being dismissed, and I was completely dismissed. I waited there for over an hour to be seen for just 60 seconds! Checked pulse and listened to chest and that was it!

I’m a non smoker with small cell lung cancer. I’m nearly 3 years in, which is amazing for small cell. I’m currently stage 4 with metastasis to my liver and bones. It’s a roller coaster that you can’t get off of. Good luck to you!
