Oh honey, you are in for a wealth of learning. One thing you need to do is secure the front and the rear because stuff on the roof at high speeds will vibrate back from the ropes. Netting or a net cap that you can tie down with the ropes for going over truck beds actually works wonders in situations like these. Do you want to put the ropes over the netting and secure the netting to any roof rack or doors?
