@connie.tingg: I’m 22 years old and I’m not afraid to admit that: 1. I have never been in a relationship or been in love. Not because I couldn’t, but because no one ever met my standards or felt right enough to give my time, energy, and heart to. 2. I went from being a 99 ATAR student to failing a unit by 1% in uni. It was truly a reflection of my lack of effort and a real wake-up call. But that year also gave me endless opportunities and allowed me to start my social media journey, turning into the best outcome. 3. I’ve been a gym girl for over 3 years but I still don’t have my dream body. I have body dysmorphia most days but I am also extremely proud of how far I’ve come. 4. My faith is important to me, but I’ll admit I haven’t made the time or effort to actively go to church. It’s not an excuse that life gets too busy, but deep down I have been so nervous to go to a new church alone after not going for 8 years. 5. I don’t have many friends. One friendship ending has changed the way I approach all now, and I’ve always struggled to fully trust people so I tend to keep my circle small. 6. I don’t have it all figured out. I have no idea what the future looks like. Whether that is I’ll work as a physio, focus on content creation full time or travel the world, who knows? It doesn’t scare me, it excites me but sometimes I worry I should have a clear plan. 7. With hookup culture being so normalised, I never felt the need to be part of it, but sometimes I feel embarrassed or judged for that. 8. I care what people think about me. It gets to me when people say irl ‘do you do onlyfans?’ or make condescending comments because I try my hardest to share my gym journey and inspire others. 9. I tried so hard to fit in with friendship groups who didn’t share my values, and I started to lose myself through surrounding myself with the wrong people. 10. I have gone on many dates and met a lot of people, but I worry that I will settle for the wrong person or get hurt again. 11. I fear I’m not enjoying life the way others my age are.
