Another good idea, I have tags I clip on my dogs to say out with my dog Walker and my number super helpful that way if a member of the public catches your dog they can ring you as you will be the one in the area actually looking for them at the time, easier than them ringing the owner first and then they have to ring you, especially as a lot of mine will be working and may not answer

please get your own dog tags. I have some from Etsy, which say "I'm with my dog walker" and my number on the back. just in case the owner isn't contactable. it's happened to me, and it's horrible, but someone found him and rang me first as I had my tag on him x

I have trackers on my long line dogs, and one on a wide orbiting dog. It was a financial outlay but I’ve found them worth it! PitPat is subscription free but £150 to buy. Signal wise I haven’t found it the best. Pawfit however £50 to buy but £95 for 2yr subscription. Pawfit is excellent with the live tracking. Glad you got the dog back quickly!

I got a load of click collars on Temu engraved with my details on. I found I kept forgetting tags on dogs. Love the collars and can unclip quickly if needed

Dog sat a dog once and she got out the back fence through a whole me or the owners didn’t know was there, literally climbed sheds and the fences to get her back. She was in eyesight but soon as she wasn’t and I couldn’t see her I let the owners know what happened. Luckily she came back through the fence and was on a leash in the garden untill the owners came back. First time I lost a dog and I was SO panicked. Since then I made a lost dog policy 😩😭

It’s also an important to make sure someone is at home, they often make their way home. One of mine did this and the owner was with me looking, she made it home and because no one was there she left again. We found her but it was scary. She’s on a tracker now.

Our dog was lost by a doggy day care…. We found out when someone called me after 2hrs…. I called the doggy day care and asked if they lost something…. 🤣🤣🤣 Also told girlfriend dog had been gone for 20mins…. Was about a year before she found out it was 2hrs!
