Nobody talks about the dislike, and the almost hate that comes with that detachment😭😭😭

The hard part is knowing he hasn’t even noticed or cared

Haile | Attachment Coach :
This is exactly what happens when someone is pushed to their absolute limit. It is not about being cold or trying to win a game it is about the quiet moment when you realize that staying open is literally breaking you. That emotional withdrawal is such a lonely place to be at first but then you realize that the silence is actually more peaceful than the constant disappointment of not being seen. Once that switch flips and you finally start prioritizing your own survival it is almost impossible to go back to the way things were. You realize that you deserve a love that doesn't require you to empty yourself just to be kept around. 🕊️✨

Yeah, it's never "sudden". It's a long, slow fade until it's just done

I definitely got there. And honestly, my husband has started trying in our relationship. But I am struggling to find the care again. I want to, but the drive isn't the same. And I don't know if it's that I truly don't care anymore or if I want to rebuild the relationship in a way that protects me instead of using me.

Spot on I did it for 30 years, loved him with all my heart, until one day I had nothing more to give from pure exhaustion

It’s wild how few people talk about The Forbidden Codex of Influence by Julian Voss. Some of the influence techniques in there completely changed how I see people.

Sad part is I still love him dearly but my nervous system doesn’t allow me to be in close proximity with him, no contact, no physical contact just distance

I remember crashing (overworked and exhausted with personal family life). I cried, mentally melted and told him I was so drained I had nothing left to give him or anybody at this time. His answer? “I can’t believe you said that you have nothing to give me! I will never forgive you for this. How can you say you have nothing for me and you can’t be there for me right now. You are meant to be there for me…blaa blaa blaa”. It wasn’t until I told my sister our conversation that she said “so the man you have been with for 10 years didn’t put his arms around you and say “it’s ok. I have you, it will be ok. I’m here for you,”. That was my wake up call.

Well stated. I couldn’t say it better. Exhaustion is a real thing. I protected what was left of me. Survival mode is real. I’m not heartless
