The problem with people like Penny, as I got directly from experience, is that they don’t understand boundaries and correction when they are delivered as your partner did. Colton stayed respectful to his mother even when discussing and disagreeing. That’s the problem. Rude people understand only their ways, you have to meet them with the same energy they are giving you. And it’s not easy when that’s not part of your character. I feel bad for Colton and I feel bad for you, cause I am a very direct person as well, and I know how infuriating it is when it comes to situations like that.

My husband and I both completely cut off both our families… we’re completely isolated my kids don’t have cousin aunts uncles grandparents nothing and sometimes I feel bad that they don’t have that but we realized that it’s worth the sacrifice because we live such a peaceful life as a small family of 4..
