The problem with this is that there isn’t much else to do. I’m from Hunan and spent a bunch of time in Changsha and it’s just eat and then play cards in your room

Besides delicious food, Changsha also boasts the world’s best fireworks. Every weekend in summer, there’s a spectacular two-hour firework show from Liuyang, Hunan. 🎆We’re a cyberpunk-style city that never sleeps🌃, even cooler than Shibuya. Plus, you can take a high-speed train directly to Zhangjiajie—the real-life home of Avatar—and the ancient town of Fenghuang⛰️❤️❤️❤️

I’m interested in a China food tour but suitable for vegans. Especially for strict vegans, so no hidden fish sauce or any non vegan ingredient.

I’m a big fan of food in Chengdu! Maybe not where you go if you’re a foodie, but it provides consistently good basic meals, and the hot pot scene is bananas if you’re into that

I convinced my (new at the time) boyfriend to go to China. We flew Sydney to Shanghai via Changsha. We had a 17 hour layover in Changsha so we got a hotel and had dinner. His first time leaving Australia. Our first dinner in Changsha was magical and we still talk about it. What a great cuisine is Hunanese food.

I’m hesitant to go to China because of potentially bad hygiene practices and possible use of sewer oil. The big cities I’m sure are safe, but how are the smaller cities, and is there some way you can make sure you are eating safe food?

I usually plan my trips to new countries around what I will eat, so this is tremendously helpful. I would still want to see some important archeological or cultural sights, but food is just as important for me

For me, for food and culinary city for sure Guandong and Fujian area, because their foods is mostly fresh seafood, meat and vegetables and have balance/ very little spices, so we can eat the real taste of the ingredients. I can eat another area foods, but I can't eat too often, because for me too oily, or too much spice like mala, or Hua Jiao, or etc☺️
