Then he explained: “Water moves. Money has to move too. If it just sits, it slowly dies.” At the time, I brushed it off. But years later — after building businesses, making mistakes, learning the hard way — I realized it might be one of the realest financial lessons I’ve ever heard. I thought of two people I know. One saves every dollar for “security.” Works hard. Never invests. Never learns new skills. Keeps money sitting in the bank while inflation quietly eats it away. The other makes the same income. But instead of letting money sit… they start moving it. Into skills. Into education. Into small business ideas. Into opportunities. Not glamorous. Not perfect. Lots of mistakes. But constant learning. Ten years later: One complains about how expensive everything is. The other lives off assets they built when no one believed in them. Because money is like water. When it flows, it creates more. When it sits, it evaporates. For me, that meant investing into skills… learning how to build an online business… and betting on myself when I had no idea if it would work. The real lesson? Learn the difference between saving, spending, and investing. There’s a time for all three.
