@Kirk DeVore: When Target got hacked back in 2013, every store in the US got hit. However since Canada had been doing Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV) chip payments, they were affected. I worked for a card processing company and helped implement chip cards in the US back then.

I love these videos usually but Tap to Pay (NFC) and chips (EMV) are entirely separate tech that work differently, and I get this is trying to stay simple, but the explanation is misleading
