@sineadbovell: Are we getting authenticity wrong? Lately there’s been a lot of talk about how authenticity will win in the age of AI. The argument goes something like this: overly polished or stylized outputs can now be easily copied by AI, so instead we should present a more raw, human self. AI can’t copy that. But authenticity shouldn’t be defined in relationship to a machine, or anything else. Authenticity is about what genuinely interests you. Your beliefs, curiosities, motivations, and the intention behind what you create. What is unique to you. If how you show up in the world is authentic to you, don’t change because of a machine. 🎧 You can watch the full episode on YouTube, Spotify, Apple or wherever you get your podcasts.

Karina | AI Governance :
Following curiosity has taught me more about myself than any introspection exercise ever did, and the latest one was perfumes of all things! It expanded my inner states, and through that, it expanded me. That is authenticity in practice, I think, not a value you declare but a process you live. And our preferences, the weird specific ones, are actually what makes us resilient as a species. Machines converge. We expand.

In this new era, the timeline accelerated and our options have become infinite. In a world where everything can be generated… clarity becomes the real luxury.

Great points. AI isn't bad because of what it can do but because of how we use it. If you use it to achieve your goal and you achieve your goal it's still your goal. It's like using a power drill instead of a screw driver. But telling an AI to create a great picture of a house doesn't count as a real goal.

Why do humans have to redefine themselves in relation to AI? Shouldn’t AI differentiate itself? Shouldn’t it—and indeed it can—define its own self versus mimic humans?
