@stridek12: Is it luck or is it science? 🌈✨This growing rainbow DIY science experiment shows how water moves through materials using capillary action! Capillary action happens when water moves through small spaces, and even against gravity, because it sticks to itself (cohesion) and other surfaces (adhesion). That’s how the water travels up the paper towel and brings the colors along to create a rainbow effect! Simple steps to make it at home: ❤️ Cut a strip of paper towel. 🧡 Color 2-3 inches of both ends with washable markers. 💛 Place the ends of the paper towel strip in two different cups of water. 💚 Wait for it… 💙 and watch the rainbow grow! 💜 Simple set up & quick clean up! #KidsActivities #ScienceExperiment #StPatricksDay
hate hate hate how u dont show it reaching the middle.

Chromatography! I do these experiments with my 5th graders back in 1986 and it became a permanent station in my classroom. They wrote up statements after collecting data and then described the process…and it was so fun.

I just realized this is more of an educational thing than it is for play. It doesn’t have to be exciting yall~ just a visual
