@rewirewithmilli: prop firms can give you access to capital many never have on their own. but most traders keep blowing accounts because they don’t understand the simple rules of prop trading. here are 5 reasons you keep blowing prop firm accounts: 1️⃣ you size too big. you trade minis instead of micros or you trade with too many contracts. your only job is to stay in the game. but trading minis or multiple contracts gives you almost no room to execute, and one mistake can violate the account. most blown accounts come from sizing too big, not from bad setups. if you want to protect the account, trade micros and keep your contract size low! 2️⃣ you have a fu** it mentality. when there are no real consequences other than spending some money, resets slowly become “just another expense” — like ordering food or buying clothes. when you’re close to blowing an account, the reaction becomes: “fu** it, I’ll just reset.” that mindset turns trading into gambling very quickly. take each account seriously. don’t let trading become the place where your emotions run wild. 3️⃣ you chase the payout rules. minimum day rules and profit targets create pressure. many traders try to finish the account as fast as possible. they force trades, overtrade, and take setups that normally wouldn’t qualify — all because they want to “finish the challenge.” the irony is that rushing the process is exactly what causes most accounts to fail. 4️⃣ you try to make one big trade instead of many small ones. you try to hit home runs. But prop firm drawdowns - especially trailing drawdown - are not built for big runners (unless you’ve built a significant buffer). the number of times I had a runner, watched it retrace, and ended up blowing the account is painful to think about. lock in clean, quick profits. a few hundred dollars per day is enough. every time you go for the big trade, you’re putting the entire account at risk for one idea. base hits = consistency → consistency = payouts. 5️⃣ you trade too many accounts too early. running multiple accounts doesn’t fix bad habits - it multiplies them. scaling bad execution across 5–10 accounts just means you lose 5–10× faster. start with one account and take it to a payout. prove to yourself that you can execute consistently. only then add more accounts. the uncomfortable truth is that prop firms don’t reward the smartest trader. they reward the trader who can follow the simple rules of prop trading. I used to blow account after account, until I got tired of the game and finally started taking it seriously. I followed the rules. sized smaller. stopped rushing. focused on consistency. and suddenly the payouts started coming. sometimes it really is that simple. let me know in the comments which mistake has cost you big. #trading #tradingmindset #howtotrade #propfirms #tradingjourney

am a bigginer here and wondering if pro firms give big capital and allow only to trade micro sizes with tricky rules, why dont you trade with your own small money using those rules instead? Just wondering
