Incorrect. If fail to pay your credit cards the banks report such on your credit report. No bank or anyone will lend you money. If you file bankruptcy you’ll need a lawyer who you pay cash upfront. You will spend up to 1-2 years in court depending on debt/assets. You will likely get surd by the lenders and or by their collectors. It doesn’t just go away. It also stays on your credit report for 10 years not 7, and getting credit again will be difficult and at bear minimum based on income and ability to repay
