@corporatedropout_mom: You can usually tell when a high performer is about to quiet quit. The ideas stop, the above and beyond disappears and suddenly they are just “meeting expectations.” Turns out burnout in the workplace comes with a very specific and noticeable personality shift. Appreciate those high performers or they will be moving on from the company before you know it! #corporatelife #highperformer #quietquitting #worklife #corporateculture
The worst part is when your teammates don’t speak up in meetings when you start being quiet, and then they look at you as if you’re supposed to be the one to speak FOR them.

my boss told me next yr I'll be rated as meeting expectations. This directly impacts my salary increase and bonus. Guess who's rolled back on their performance! 🫠

This is why you never start as a high performer, as I’ve learned. Start at the same level as everyone else and decide from there whether they are worth your high performance.

I hear people trying to figure things out and I know how to do the task, but will not say anything now unless someone asks me for help directly. My stress level has gone down A LOT.

Saved a company $500k, built their 2026+ expense forecast dashboard, tightened their process and managed a product roll out all outside of my scope as a content editor. Review: meets expectations. Result: that’s outside of my scope.

High performers are hardly ever promoted because the management needs to hire two or three people just to replace them. To mzke matters worse, high performers tend to be non-conformists: they refuse to accept poor management, they speak their minds, and they hold themselves to high standards. Rather than being recognised for these qualities, they are frequently seen as problematic, which is why they inevitably leave; they simply refuse to settle for mediocrity.
My own manager has admitted he would love to promote me, but will most likely be unable to do so because apparently there was a complaint raised by a colleague. This is the same colleague who has taken five months to approve a set of guidelines, while I have just renegotiated contracts that are now saving the company 250,000 per year.
Needless to say, I am looking for a new role.
