The In Memorium isn’t about this generation, it’s paying respect to the ones who those before us. Redford founded the Sundance Film Festival, where dozens of small films are seen and picked up every year by distributors that we’d otherwise never see. Younger actors cite him as an inspiration, so I’m not sure about this take.

The In Memorium is about honoring the history of movies and the important people who trailblazed and helped make what Hollywood is today. Your take is just wrong.

Wrong about Robert Redford. he was still very relevant to us GenXers ... not everything is about whats relevant to the younger generation. especially the oscars. i dont watch the oscars but i think they were right to highlight Robert Redford especially with Sundance film festival as his legacy giving young film makers a as independent films.
