Same. This makes me think about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Until basic needs are met, you don’t have the bandwidth to do those things that require a lot of introspection. It’s a privilege.

I am doing everything I can to get my 20yo to understand he doesnt need to know anything right now.But while he is figuring it out he cant stay stagnant.He can just look at it like what would I not hate doing right now. 🤣

I had stable parents who stayed together and I still don't think I really knew who I was until later in my 20s. I did grow up in a small town though with really limiting beliefs and ideas so I wonder if who I was didn't fit the status quo. It took me leaving the small town to go to University to finally feel free to explore that however I wanted. And even then it took time for me to "know".
