I miss my youngest son sleeping with us. All this nonsense of “must be in own bed”. It doesn’t matter. What I wouldn’t give to have him gently snoring next to me again. Now he’s 17, independent and an amazing young man. Sharing our bed was only a good thing. Fact.

I set up a camera recently so I could record my 19 month old coming to my room because it’s just so cute! She doesn’t cry or get upset she just comes in and I usually sense her immediately. She can’t climb up onto my bed yet so I have to pick her up. If I don’t sense her immediately she will throw her puffin teddy at me (I didn’t realise this until I set up the camera 😂) I’m so used to it that I don’t sleep properly until she is in with me now 😅

I was the strict parent that wanted my kids in their own beds while they were younger! Was the one who walked them back to their beds every time they woke. Worried it would ruin them being able to go to sleep alone! Now they are 9 and 12 and I allow them to sleep in my bed or my husband sleeps with them whenever they ask. Why? Cause I’m realizing now they are only young for so long. I’d rather enjoy these moments while I can. One day they will no longer want too sleep with one of us. So I’ll soak it in as long as I can.
