I did exactly this 2 years ago. When they gave me my offer, I lied and said I had a final round interview with another company the following day. They offered me 20% more to skip the interview and sign immediately.

So. I’m currently awaiting what I suspect is an offer for a senior level role at a large corporation. 4 interviews in and finished the last one on Tuesday. Large strategic role. Reports to director. Is it advised to do this at this level?
