In my opinion, the black hole is not destructive, but the engine that creates a new galaxy collects dark matter and gas and transforms it into stars and planets. Every galaxy has a black hole at its center that spins all the matter. It's no coincidence.

It's impossible to know exactly, but we estimate there are tens of millions of stellar mass black holes just in our Milky Way galaxy. Across the entire observeable universe, it's likely in the in the hundreds of billions to trillions of black holes. They're everywhere, and most of them are completely invisible to us.

As I understand it from when I was high in school, a star collapses, and shrinks in size to a marble, and all the gravitational power that the star had when it was massive, all gravitational potential is now stored in the black hole? Is that right?
