Kadikoy is the place. Yes you would have to take the ferry or the tran, but it is all worth it. Less people, best food, you can also walk around.

I visited Istanbul a few times and definitely recommend staying at Kadiköy. That’s the place I would always stay in even if I just stayed for a few days

Such a beautiful city, I totally agree. But today was a bit scary for me. My friend and I went for a simple haircut and beard trim, and we were charged 24,700 TRY (~€500) with a bunch of random extras added. It was my first day here, so I didn’t expect this at all. Definitely a lesson learned.

First time we stayed in Sultanahmet and we loved it. Second time we stayed in the Karakoy area, which was also nice. In May we’re going again. Same hotel as our second stay

Im coming for 6 days this april which would make it my 3rd visit to Istanbul haha. My friend and I will be staying in Cihangir. we found an AirBnB with a rlly good price. Surprisingly accommodstion prices in Kadikoy were a lot more expensive than in Beyoglu area. I wanted to stay in kadikoy a lot since i’m very familiar with the area and food options are great there but Cihangir will have to do this time. I hope that area has some pros too

Arnavutkoy is the best area I always stay. There is a bus going to the city center every 10 min. Airport is only 20 min on the bus. Only £1.50 one way instead of £30 or more taxi . Bus number: H6 airport! Plus hotels are so cheap.

I went to Istanbul in February and stayed in Galata (Beyoglu). Beautiful, but too chaotic and the steep climbs were a pain. If I could go back, I’d choose Karakoy!
