@ana.knits.daily: 🟡Joining Knitting in the Round🟡 How to join your knitting in the round without creating a gap at the cast-on edge: 1. Cast on the required number of stitches + 1 extra stitch (for the join). The working yarn should be in your left hand. 2. Transfer the first cast-on stitch (the very first one you made) to the right needle. 3. Lift the last cast-on stitch (on the left needle) over the first stitch (on the right needle) and drop it off the needle—this joins your work in the round and eliminates the gap. 4. Tighten both ends gently to close any remaining space. 5. Place a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round (BOR), and continue knitting as instructed. If this was helpful, then give it a like and save it for later! #knitting #knittingtutorial #knittinginstagram #knittinginspiration #howtoknit

Generally, if a pattern says to cast on 63 and “join in the round” do you need to cast on one extra?
