6 years off cocaine a 20 year cocaine abuse and even seeing off it for 6 years I still get bad urges there farther between and the urges dont last as long but I dont think that urges will ever leave it's the tools you adapt to notice the signs and to keep it from happening

I can tell you that it never gets easier, 1.5 years sober and some days my brain tells me I want to try it again and how good it was. Random songs, sunny days, flashbacks etc it never dies, your brain will haunt you….. but you have to refocus and stay busy

So true. Understanding and learning what you really need is the hard part. As you say, with all the help you can get, your own interest in wanting to quit and wanting to live life again also increases.

The beginning is so hard ….. being sober after using substances to block the feelings & pain & loosing that security blanket it the worst! Be it does get better & easier if you continue to be honest with yourself…..
