That is not completely true. I have been living in Thailand for almost a year, and from what I have seen, many of the women in those situations are indeed workers, or “freelancers” as they are called here. Of course, some things are less unusual here than in the West, such as women being more direct in approaching men (For example, I have had a woman approach me directly on the street and ask whether I had a girlfriend). But when you see an older foreign man (not even that old) with a young Thai woman, in 98% cases there is some kind of financial or transactional dynamic involved. So yes, but also no. My advice to younger men thinking about coming here is to be very careful with dating, especially outside Bangkok, where these dynamics can be even crazier. In truth, the wisest advice would probably be not to date Thai women at all, although I would be lying if I said I have always followed that myself. And one more piece of advice is that after being called handsome 200 times, do not start thinking you suddenly became a model overnight. A lot of men let the attention get to their heads and stop seeing things clearly

That’s not exactly true. I mean yea if you walk through the walking streets like in Pattaya the women want you, it’s how they make their living. However, pretty much everywhere you go in Thailand you will be left alone pretty much. Also trust me, my Thai wife like to be in charge 😂

I spent 6 months out there. Didnt fall for the scams. Used to go out with local bar girls, out clubbing and for food, they used to by me drinks and take me to places where we got Thai prices. Once they realise youre not a punter, you get treated as well as you treat them.
