@haniloue: The Iron Ore Train in Mauritania is one of the most extreme train journeys in the world. It runs for about 700 kilometers across the Sahara Desert, transporting iron ore from the mines of Zouérat to the port city of Nouadhibou. The train can be over 2 kilometers long and takes 16–20 hours to complete the journey. What makes it famous—and dangerous—is that many people ride on top of open ore wagons. There are no seats, no safety rails, and no protection from the elements. Riders are exposed to intense heat during the day, freezing temperatures at night, heavy iron dust, and strong winds. Falling from the train, dehydration, and breathing issues from the dust are real risks, and there is no medical help along the route. While locals have used the train for decades as a form of transport, it remains a high-risk, unofficial experience.
