I remember 1cent candies then it went to 5c then 10 then 25… I also remember having a two dollar bill before they made toonies. And 1$ surprise bags with candies, toys and stickers and when McDonald’s gave decent toys and collectables. I remember our dollar theatre and gas being 45c. I remember when Polly pocket came out and when trolls were everywhere and beanie babies. Pogs, jacks, hopscotch, tether ball, and red ass where games we played at recess. I miss those days.

in the 90s the signs didn't even have enough digit spaces to allow the prices go over a dollar per litre, all of the gas stations across Canada had to get new signs installed that would accommodate prices over a dollar per litre, I got my license in the early 90s and gas was between $0.40 and $0.50 per litre
