this is my color tattoo. artist must understand color theory. the process might seem sus, because you're going to see colors different from what you asked for, but trust the process. ask/talk to your artist if you feel uneasy or don't understand color theory yourself. and definitely do your research! it took me 5 years to find someone that I trusted.

I was told that you can't use smaller needle grouping. like 12.7rl should be the smallest. is that because the line just won't show up?

Yes, I sometimes feel their skin is more sensitive and needs even gentler tattooing. High contrast and punchy designs.

As a tattooer yup ❤️understanding colors on melanin skin is really the only challenge and using contrast so it pops. I love tattooing on melanin skin ❤️

Contrast, contrast, contrast. You’re exactly right 👏🏾 I have so many tattoos with wall to wall shading and it just healed muddy snd it’s not legible even up close and I’m not even that dark lol but my back is a ton of heavy black and open skin next to it, and you can see it from across the room.
