@roxys.reptiden: Waking up to find a tail on the ground was one of the scariest moments I’ve had as a reptile owner. I had no idea Pixie had escaped during the night and my heart sank. Thankfully, she wasn’t far and I immediately cleaned the wound and moved her into a hospital tank. From that moment on, it was about recovery. With daily care and a strong diet to help her regain essential fats and nutrients, she slowly began to heal. It took months-year for her tail to regenerate. I came home from work one day and saw my leopard gecko dropped his tail and literally I had nightmares about that happening… no idea how or why he dropped it. I called the vet crying and she said “please calm down… this happens sometime just keep the habitat clean and keep feeding schedule normal. It will grow back you don’t need to bring him in” I was STRESSED until he grew it back
