Yeah. I can confirm this as a fearful avoidant. The suppression and shutdown happen on autopilot, even when you are aware of it. I can suppress and compartmentalize very effectively, but that doesnt mean I dont feel it. With a fully secure partner tho, this protective mechanism is not as active. They dont trigger your core fear.
