@meghannmcuniff: Rapper Afroman testified today in a trial over a lawsuit brought by sheriff's deputies in Ohio who allege he defamed them after tey raided his home in 2022, including in the music video to his song "Lemon Pound Cake." Legal name Joseph Edgar Foreman, Afroman answered questions about his career to begin his direct-examintion, which was conducted by the plaintiffs' attorney Robert A. Klinger, who called him to the stand as an adverse witness. "You are known under the stage name as Afroman. Is that correct?" Klinger asked. "Yes, sir," Afroman answered. "And you create music videos and do performances, right?" Klinger asked. "How many states of the United States have you performed in? Do you think all of them?" Klinger asked. "All 50. Yes, sir," Afroman answered. "How many countries have you performed in?" Klinger asked. "I don't remember, but not all of them, but I've been to a few," Afroman answered. "How many live performances ... did you do last year? Roughly?" Klinger asked. "I don't know. Possibly 250. ... There's a lot of days, but I don't know exactly," Afroman answered. Klinger asked if "one of the first big hits you had was 'But Then I Got High'?" Klinger asked. "Because I Got High," Afroman answered.
