@pitochk: Water is known to be the foundation of all life on our planet. Beyond that, humanity has learned to use water for many other incredibly important purposes - from hydroelectric power plants to oxygen generators. It is fascinating to imagine what life on Earth might be like if, instead of water, we existed in some other substance. The idea of hypothetical methane-based organisms, for example, is truly intriguing.
