1. why is he saying 4% cash back when it’s 4x points 2. also who is using amex points for cash 😭 33k points can literally get u a round trip to peru, ireland, and prob other places too, which is way better than $252 3. he’s also not even including the card benefits when talking about offsetting the annual fee 4. not trying to be rude but i wouldn’t really take his advice, there are better tiktokers for credit card content. personally i think amex gold/plat is better overall

The 4x is not the point of the card, it’s to build points through Rakuten, which gives u Amex points, which you can then transfer to luxury flight partners.

This does not include any of the spending one does on dining or travel. Also, he does not speak about the monthly/semi annual credits that come with the AmEx gold card that off set the card’s yearly fee, including 120/yr in uber/uber eats credits, 84/yr in dunkin credits, and more. This take is misleading and doesn’t cover all the card can do

Credits, points for business class flights have more value than 4% cash back, customer service, rakuten. Completely different ball game brother

Well, that makes sense if you don’t use points to effectively pay for travel. Airplane tickets are way more effective at paying for the membership fee and getting your moneys worth. Ofc that’s assuming that’s part of ur lifestyle.

I use all my Amex credits so my effective annual fee is more like -$99. Amex basically pays me $100 a year to use their card. So by your math, it is actually superior to a $0 annual fee card.
