this is how I check it at home. but I go into the ob's office, rushed back, weight, sit down, blood pressure right away while talking to me, nurse makes me hold my arm out instead of resting it on something or supporting it herself. then they act surprised that my blood pressures are always a little elevated in office but 110s/60s at home. So frustrating.

This is what drives me crazy at appts they get you back and talk to you but I talk with my hands and all this other stuff then I have to get my BP taken and it’s high. Like omg give me a min to breathe and relax

I love this! I’ve always been very sensitive to external factors. So one important thing for me and getting an accurate reading is making sure I’ve been resting for minimum 5 minutes, not talking, no overstimulating noises. Early morning or late night is my best reading cause the house is quiet and nobody is running for mom or barking at mailmen

I always have elevated readings at home and in doctor’s office then I get sent into triage and it’s normal! So frustrating.. 😅 especially since I have been having persistent headaches with no relief.

I had HELPP with my first baby that lead to be hospitalized at 32 weeks and c section at 33.6. 26 weeks pregnant with #2 and taking my BP daily. I sit at my table and pray thanking God for going ahead of me and for a healthy full pregnancy and birth experience. I picture my husband and daughter and thank God for their health, our home, our jobs… I meditate on “things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise…” and my BP so far has been 120’s/60-70’s 🥰🥰🥰🥰

It bothers me when they take my BP and start talking to me. It’s confusing because all of what you’re saying is correct. I wish they took this seriously.

I’m chronically borderline late to every appointment which results in me running into the building and they always take my bp immediately after and then question why it’s high 😭

OB office likes to take it the second I walk in and gets mad when I say “we are going to hold off for 5-10” I know if it’s taken immediately they will try and diagnose me with hypertension, but I’m completely stable after 5 minutes. If they do manage to take it before the 5-10, I make them retake it after the appointment.
