My car mechanic son said that the batteries are more expensive than the car itself so when they die, not only is it not worth replacing, but they're ridiculously bad for the environment trying to dispose of them.

I’ve got a BYD Seal and this hasn’t been an issue for me or any of my passengers. It drives like an ICE automatic. No one pedal driving. If I come off the accelerator it coasts pretty much the same.

Girl I get this badddd - I feel like not being able to hear the engine rev makes my brain fully think I’m being poisoned because I haven’t got environmental feedback that I’m about to be in motion. Then it makes them histamines to fight it - ADHD meds make it SO much worse too - I get it on trams if I’m facing backwards, or even if I’m yapping too hard and stopped paying attention to if we’re moving or not 😅

The issue here is bad drivers, though, not electric cars themselves. Drivers need to learn how to properly handle acceleration and breaking in EVs, which is different than ICE cars. As all cars become EVs, and more people even learn how to drive for the first time in one, this will hopefully improve over time.
