@meghannmcuniff: Afroman was not reticent when he took the witness stand in trial today over a defamation lawsuit brought against him by police in Ohio. The 51-year-old "Because I Got High" rapper has repeatedly lampooned Adams County Sheriff's Office officials who raided his property in 2022 after the search led to no criminal charges. Legal name Joseph Edgar Foreman, Afroman featured video footage from the raid in his music video "Lemon Pound Cake," and he's repeatedly criticized the officials who were on his property with profane comparisons and sexual innuendo, including calling one deputy a pedophile. He also accused them of stealing his money after $400 was unaccounted for. He testified today at the Adams County Courthouse in West Union that his point is "they never should have raided me in the first place." "That's your whole thing?" asked plaintiffs' lawyer Robert A. Klinger. "That's my whole thing. If they never would have showed up, there would be no songs about them. I wouldn't know who they are. Their faces would not be on my video cameras. None of this — we wouldn't be in this room right now. If they hadn't raided my house and didn't press no charges, didn't even know what they was doing. This whole thing is their fault, and they're suing me for their mistake," Afroman testified. "And so you don't really care if they stole your money or not. You're just mad?" Klinger asked. "The police officers shouldn't be stealing the civilians' money, so I do care. All of it is an outrage. This whole thing is an outrage," Afroman answered. "You have no evidence that they took your money, except for the amount on the bag isn't the same as the amount —" Kilinger asked as Afroman cut him off. "How about the lady admitting that she took my, she admitted that she took my money on live Fox 19 News. Go argue with the film clip. Go argue with her admitting that she took my money," Afroman answered. "Nobody admitted that they took your money," Klinger said."Well, whatever, go, go look at her admitting that the bag is short because it stayed open all weekend long, or two weeks, after Brian and Officer Cooley just left it and did just mishandled it and didn't do it right," Afroman testified. "Just so we're honest with the jury here, Mr. Foreman, nobody admitted that they took your money, did they?""They admitted it was short," Afroman answered. "Yes, nobody took your money, correct?" Klinger asked. "It was short, she admitted. .. She said that it was short, and usually it's $10, $5, $2 missing. How does $400 even come up missing? Odd," Afroman testified. I count thousands of dollars a day, in $100's down to $1 bills. I might be off by $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 or $100. I have never been off by $400, and NEVER over counted, ALWAYS under, because bills can get stuck together.
