okay, but it’s also your responsibility to ask every question in the book before receiving any medications because when i was induced they walked me through everything because i asked every question i could possibly think of.

They put me on pitocin and kept trying to up it and every time that they did after 15 minutes they’d have to come back because I was having contractions that weren’t back to back at 2cm and weren’t going away so after they upped the medication they’d have to come and lower it every time till I opted out and begged for an epidural

I hated my induction. It was the worst pain of my life. Epidural did not work.

Felt absolutely nothing with pitocin and they had to stop and restart for it to actually work and even then barley gave me enough contractions close enough together to push

If I go into an unhealthy due date over 41-42 weeks then just give me a C- Section. The affects the epidural and pitocin has isn’t worth it in my head. It’s just not. If i’m already going in knowing I won’t be following my birth plan I won’t mentally be able to do the epidural

I’ve had pitocin births and ONE natural birth. No epidural, no pitocin… I would much rather a natural birth over a rushed birth.

I want to share my experience while still respecting that every mom’s story is her own. Everyone’s birth experience is different. The care you receive, your OB, and even where you give birth can all shape how things go. With my first child, I was induced at 37 weeks and 6 days due to low amniotic fluid. My providers explained what Pitocin was, why it was needed, and the risks. Personally, I didn’t have any issues with it. I do remember the contractions being painful, but once I got my epidural, things became much more manageable, and I honestly don’t remember much after that. I also had a strong support system in the room, which made a big difference. They helped ask questions and advocate when needed. I’ve seen other moms share that Pitocin was a difficult or painful experience for them, and I completely respect that. But I also think it’s important not to assume that one experience will be everyone’s experience. Both things can be true: some people have hard experiences, and some don’t.
