Dont forget the pressure cooker. 90 minutes, done. I used a can of Guinness and some beef broth. Tender as heck.

If you buy a package of corned beef, can you freeze it and use it at a later date or do you have to cook it right away? I always wondered about that.

I crockpot it also for 7 hrs BUT, I don’t slice it, rather shred it as I actually like it stringy & drag those long pieces through a bunch of mustard 😋

I use pressure cooker 90 mins… let it rest while I’m cooking veggies in same juice in pressure cooker six mins. Then slice beef, assemble everything in casserole dish… put in oven for just a bit to get a little bit browned bc that’s how we like it 😊. However will definitely try adding Guinness next time.

I’m wicked picky of my corned beef. I put in slow cooker on low for 10-12 hours with a few beers and whatever pepper corns I have on hand along with a cut red onion. After it’s done, I rid the fat and put on a baking sheet. I bake til the moisture leaves and develops a light crust. It needs to break apart all fibrous and stuff. Great for sandwiches and with mashed potatoes!

Would you explain difference in corned beef and pastrami … I know pastrami is smoked… with pastrami, do you boil it after smoking?

I made mine in the Instant Pot on high for 90mins in a combination of beer and beef stock. Then I take the meat out and do the veggies in the same liquid for 5mins. It was tender and delicious 😋

Guinness, red pepper flakes, pickling spices, broken up bay leaf, cover tightly and put in the oven at 375 for 30 minutes. Drop to 300 until done

I have always boiled it because that’s how my mother did it and my Irish grandmother did it. I did it in my crockpot this year. It’s the best it’s ever been.

I cook mine in homemade chicken stock in the slow cooker starting the day before. my corned beef is slow cooked for about 18 hours, low and slow. add my veggies and simmer more, then I thicken up the broth in the end

1 time i seasoned it up & cool smoked it overnight w/applewood & apple chunks to ramp up the steam content of the smoke, we ate a bit as sandwiches (so yumm!) then i gentle simmered it w/a blond import orange based ale (hoegaarten ☺️👌) & cabbage & potatoes. Both dishes were THE ABSOLUTE BEST corned beef i've ever had in my life (im 59)

I try to cook it a day ahead, let it cool, slice it, then slowly reheat the next day. Also, I always cook the potatoes n veggies with the beef😋👍🏽☘️
