Later composers like Franz Liszt and Cécile Chaminade would continue pushing the form even further. In this Étude in C major, Op. 10 No. 1, Chopin transforms sweeping arpeggios into something mesmerising. Nearly 200 years after its publication, it still stands as a serious challenge for pianists.
