Had this feeling sitting in traffic driving my son to soccer practice. A car dealership and a church on either side of me. It was just one of those weird moments where it strikes you how silly it all is.

i realized this when i was just 8 or 9 and it kept me awake for so many nights because everything felt like it meant nothing and it was so scary. even thinking about death at that age, stripped from religious concepts of the afterlife, terrified me. as i grew a little older, the absurdity of existence was somewhat freeing, i felt like everything was possible, if everything meant nothing then i can give any meaning to anything that i came across. ever since i try to view “magic” in things. things can only reflect what i perceive in them.
