@almafrancisheyliger: As an elected Senator, I support housing for all of the U.S. Virgin Islands. I believe our people deserve real opportunities to live in safe, stable, and affordable homes. But let’s not play games with the public. R3 is not limited to residential use, so no one should pretend this is only about housing. That is exactly why guardrails matter. Leaving 15 acres open under R3 without clear limits is a setup for confusion, misuse, and future uses the public never agreed to. That is dangerous, irresponsible, and unfair to the communities that will have to live with the consequences. If this is truly about housing, then it should be clearly stated in writing and backed by real protections. The public should not be asked to accept vague zoning, loose promises, and open ended language that can mean one thing today and something completely different tomorrow.
