@trevor.kniha: ✨ Journey to the Heart of the Milky Way ✨ This zoom sequence begins with a wide view of our Galaxy, then dives deep into its dusty core. At the center lies Sagittarius A* — a supermassive black hole ~4.3 million M☉ — surrounded by thousands of stars packed tightly together. 🌌 Using 26 years of ESO telescope data, we can actually watch these stars whirl at incredible speeds under the black hole’s immense gravity. One of them, S2, came especially close in May 2018, providing one of the best tests of Einstein’s theory of relativity. The final part reveals a simulation of these stellar orbits, showing the crowded, dynamic heart of our Galaxy. 🎯Thanks for reading and watching this video! 🫂Interested in space, Astronomy and Astrophysics?
