I too have OCD and anxiety and it has absolutely been an exercise in acceptance and I have beautiful extremely well done tattoos. Perfectionism is hard to overcome but genuinely tattoos have helped me!

Question… I just gotta a new tattoo (bigger than all my previous ones) and I feel like it’s bigger than I expected but I liked the size when it was stenciled. Will it always feel so big or will that go away? Not sure how to explain this but .. I can’t tell if it’s big or I’m just in shock

I’ve always told people before getting tattoos hold onto that design for a few months even a year then go back to it, if you still love it and enjoy it get it, when I was 13 I saved a snake skeleton piece, I turned 18 and was wanting something to cover scars 2 days after turning 18 I got this, I’m now almost 20 and it’s my most favourite tattoo ever

YES THIS! Especially with today’s social media of seeing everyone’s opinion on the right or wrong way to get a tattoo or placement of tattoos. Sure I could’ve got my tattoos better placed but isn’t that the point of tattoos?! They are imperfect and part of you! Loved this

I appreciate this. I really like my tattoos but I struggle with perfectionism and anxiety- and seeing so much tattoo regret content had me freaked out. But to me tattoos were my way to not take everything so seriously. It was my attempt at letting go a bit if that makes sense

i truly needed to hear this. i have BPD, sometimes i love my tattoos other times i absolutely hate them, which i knew would happen before even getting them but bpd tends to contradict itself lmao. this really help switch my perspective towards them.

I love this perspective. AI is another unrealistic expectation people hold for tattoos now..ugh. it’s also hard to help people understand that ink migrates and tattoos don’t look brand new over the years and never will look the same again. that doesn’t make them bad!

I just got three facial procedures done and now had the urge to remove my tattoo (id thought about it before) I definitely go through cycles of changing out things about myself and my environment for the sake of "perfection" and erasing parts of my past, I needed to hear this thank you
