Everyone saying a specific heat tool will make your hair smell burnt is delulu and uneducated. If you use a good heat protectant and don’t use extreme heat for long amounts of time it will not smell burnt at all. A burnt smell is caused by user error not the tool.

I like how when it was time to promote the old pink one everyone was raving about it to sell it. Now a newer much much more expensive one comes out and suddenly the pink one sucks and has a burnt smell

my hair smelled burnt ASFFFF and lost its natural waves for MONTHS. it still isn’t even back to normal completely and i can STILL smell the burnt smell in my hair. i used it in the lowest setting and didn’t hold it for more than a few seconds either 😭😭😭😭 my biggest regret was buying that thing

I’ve used both, the difference is pretty clear once you try them side by side. TYMO tri-barrel gives better volume, better shape, and a much nicer finish overall.

A heat protector for your hair is always good to use! Bring the heat down to at least 340° and grab a section as thick as the rovy. If it smells burnt you’re not grabbing enough hair. Thin section at 340° you’re going to burn it. Thicker sections at 340° you won’t burn your hair. If you want to grab thinner sections lower the heat. If you’re not using heat protection LOWER THE HEAT! I have the rovy and it my hair never smells burnt. Coming from a cosmetology student…

If it makes your hair smell burnt, there is definitely damage. I got the wavy talk hair straightener and it damaged my hair, got dirty and no way to clean it. Breaks hair. I had also bought my mom one and she complained as well.
